Small Munsterlander Club of America

The Small Munsterlander Club of America was established in 1993, and is the original Small Munsterlander Breed Club in North America.  The Club's mission is to promote responsible ownership of the Small Münsterländer. To that end, the SMCA will encourage training, testing, and hunting. We are also the AKC Parent Club for the Small Munsterlander.            

The Small Munsterlander is first and foremost a versatile hunting dog and natural retriever with a medium range, solid pointing instinct, and strong desire for the water. Small Munsterlanders have excellent tracking abilities for all types of work after the shot. These qualities are enhanced by intelligence and trainability. 

The Club encourages and promotes the breeding of pure-bred Small Munsterlanders and to do all possible to bring their natural versatile hunting qualities to perfection for the foot hunter. SMCA Cooperative Breeders are your sole source for the highest quality Small Munsterlander from solid hunting stock. The Club's Breed Council monitors and supports Club breeders with the intent of maintaining the historical characteristics of the breed and improving the quality of the Small Munsterlander in America. Breeders must adhere to guidelines and regulations to be considered Cooperative Breeders. Quality is assured if you secure a puppy from an SMCA breeder.
